Bishop Museum Press aims to provide the most secure and widest variety of shipping options to all of our book lovers. We offer USPS shipping to Hawai‘i and the United States, and to international destinations upon request. Shipping options are available specific to individual product weights and dimensions.

USPS Priority Mail — estimated delivery 2—7 business days. USPS tracking and insurance services included.

USPS Media Mail —  estimated delivery approximately 2-3+ weeks. USPS tracking and insurance services NOT included.

** Media Mail is an economy shipping option available only for qualified media materials. Media mail delivery time is subject to the discretion of USPS. For time-sensitive purchases, please choose USPS Priority Mail only. Tracking and insurance are NOT available for this option and, once your package is in the care of USPS, Bishop Museum Press is not responsible for insuring delivery.

International Shipping Methods

For international orders, please contact us via email in advance of your purchase to receive an actual quotation for your shipping costs.

USPS International Priority Mail — estimated delivery 5—15 business days. USPS tracking and insurance services included.

** Shipments may be subject to additional customs fees at the time of delivery depending on the policies of your destination. 

Order Processing Time

Please note that delivery estimates include the time it takes for your order to be prepared for shipment. Orders may take up to four business days to depart our facilities. You will receive an email notification with tracking details as soon as your order is shipped. Shipments are picked up by USPS Monday-Friday at 9 am Hawai‘i Standard Time. If your order is placed Thursday after 3 pm HST, it will be received by USPS the following Monday. Once your items have been shipped, they are in the care of USPS. Please contact USPS regarding any tracking questions or delivery issues. If you are interested in placing a large order or want know more about our shipping policies, please contact us via email.

Order Cancellations

All orders submitted to Bishop Museum Press are automatically fulfilled as received and cannot be cancelled. For this reason, please be sure to review your shopping cart carefully before completing your purchase. If you have any questions regarding our products or policies, our staff will be happy to assist you.

Address or Delivery Errors

Due to USPS security measures, your package may be "returned to sender" if your mail carrier is unable to securely delivery your package. To avoid delivery errors, please be sure that your shipping address is correct as provided.

If your package is returned to our facilities, you will be immediately notified and the cost of the items will be refunded to you. Please note that the original cost of shipping will not be refunded. If you would still like to re-purchase your items, you may re-place your order at any time. If your address is correct but you are experiencing delivery difficulties, we recommend contacting your local USPS for assistance.

Damaged Shipments

In rare cases, packages may be damaged in transit. If this has occurred, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience. Please contact us immediately so we may assist you.

Shipping "Green"

As part of an institution-wide initiative, Bishop Museum and the Press are taking steps toward a more sustainable future. Bishop Museum Press is committed to using recycled or “second-life” packaging materials whenever and wherever possible. We also invite our customers to join in by choosing to recycle or give a “third life” to shipping boxes and other single-use plastics. If recycled packaging does not fit your shipping needs, please contact us in advance of your order so that we may accommodate you. If you or your organization would like to donate “second-life” packaging materials to the Press, please also contact us directly.

Pick Up
